Meetings are generally held on Mondays at the Town Hall in Rye, commencing at 6.30pm (unless otherwise specified).
The meetings of Rye Town Council are open to the public, save for a few occasions when confidential business is discussed. Members of the public and press are encouraged to attend, and include a slot for public participation. If you wish to speak, here is a guide to attending and speaking at meetings.
The meetings and function of Rye Town Council and its committees are governed by the Standing Orders as well as adhering to Terms of Reference. (Please note that the Policy, Leisure and Tourism, and Public Services Committees have since been disbanded.)
Agendas for upcoming meetings will be published here by the Wednesday preceding the meeting date. They are also displayed on the Town Hall noticeboard and are available to view at Rye Library, High Street, Rye.
Minutes of meetings already held can be found below.
Planning & Townscape Minutes are usually available within a few days, whilst other Minutes may be longer depending on the workload of the Town Clerk. Please note that all Minutes remain as unadopted drafts until they are approved at the next meeting of the Council or Committee. Minutes or Agendas may sometimes include supporting documents. If these do not appear on this website then they may be viewed at Rye Town Hall in Market Street from Monday-Thursday, 9am-1pm, or by appointment.
