Rye Relief In Need


Rye Town Council is the sole trustee of Rye Relief in Need – a registered charity (no. 1075806) established to assist those normally residing within the town (parish boundary) of Rye who are in ‘need, hardship or distress’.

Applications may be made at any time of the year and are considered generally within 2 months of submission.

Examples of successful applications for grant funding include:

Vitalise towards care breaks £303

Moat Housing Care & Repair distribution of electric blankets £150
Rye Out of School Club additional heating and curtains £500
Rye St John Ambulance new ambulance appeal £2,000
‘Mr J’ removal cost/debt contribution £214
Relate Bursary Fund counseling sessions £500

Organisations applying on behalf of their clients should write to or email the Secretary of Rye Relief in Need – and include:

  • the amount of funding sought
  • a brief description of the need for the grant
  • confirmation that the funding will benefit those residing within the town of Rye only
  • a copy of your organisation’s last published accounts

If funding is required to continue a service it would be helpful to know how many Rye town residents benefited from it during the previous 12 months.
